你们中间作父亲的，谁有儿子求饼，反给他石头呢。求鱼，反拿蛇当鱼给他呢。If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

求鸡蛋，反给他蝎子呢。Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

左咡

你们虽然不好，尚且知道拿好东西给儿女。何况天父，岂不更将圣灵给求他的人吗。If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

耶稣赶出一个叫人哑吧的鬼。鬼出去了，哑吧就说出话来众人都希奇。And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

左咡

内中却有人说，他是靠着鬼王别西卜赶鬼。But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

左咡

又有人试探耶稣，向他求从天上来的神迹。And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

左咡

他晓得他们的意念，便对他们说，凡一国自相分争，就成为荒场。凡一家自相分争，就必败落。But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

若撒但自相分争，他的国怎能站得住呢。因为你们说我是靠着别西卜赶鬼。If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

左咡

我若靠着别西卜赶鬼，你们的子弟赶鬼，又靠着谁呢。这样，他们就要断定你们的是非。And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

左咡

壮士披挂整齐，看守自己的住宅，他所有的都平安无事。When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
