耶稣说完了这一切的话，就对门徒说，And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

你们知道过两天是逾越节，人子将要被交给人，钉在十字架上。Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified

那时，祭司长和民间的长老－聚集在大祭司称为该亚法的院里。Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

大家商议，要用诡计拿住耶稣杀他。And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

只是说，当节的日子不可，恐怕民间生乱。But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

耶稣在伯大尼长大麻疯的西门家里，Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

有一个女人，拿着一玉瓶极贵的香膏来，趁耶稣坐席的时候，浇在他的头上。There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

左咡

门徒看见，就很不喜悦，说，何用这样的枉费呢。But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

左咡

这香膏可以卖许多钱，周济穷人。For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

左咡

耶稣看出他们的意思，就说，为什么难为这女人呢。他在我身上作的，是一件美事。When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
