众人正在听见这些话的时候，耶稣因为将近耶路撒冷，又因为他们以为神的国快要显出来，就另设一个比喻说，And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

有一个贵胄往远方去，要得国回来。He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

便叫了他的十个仆人来，交给他们十锭银子，锭原文作弥拿一弥拿约银十两说，你们去作生意，直等我回来。And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

他本国的人却恨他，打发使者随后去说，我们不愿意这个人作我们的王。But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

他既得国回来，就吩咐叫那领银子的仆人来，要知道他们作生意赚了多少。And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

头一个上来说，主阿，你的一锭银子，已经赚了十锭。Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

左咡

主人说，好良善的仆人。你既在最小的事上有忠心，可以有权柄管十座城。And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

第二个来说，主阿，你的一锭银子，已经赚了五锭。And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

主人说，你也可以管五座城。And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

又有一个来说，主阿，看哪，你的一锭银子在这里，我把他包在手巾里存着。And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
