他在阴间受痛苦，举目远远的望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里。And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

左咡

就喊着说，我祖亚伯拉罕哪，可怜我吧，打发拉撒路来，用指头尖蘸点水，凉凉我的舌头。因为我在这火焰里，极其痛苦。And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

后来那讨饭的死，被天使放在亚伯拉罕的怀里。财主也死了，并且埋葬了。And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

要得财主桌子上掉下来的零碎充饥。并且狗来舔他的疮。And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

有一个财主，穿着紫色袍和细麻布衣服，天天奢华宴乐。There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

又有一个讨饭的，名叫拉撒路，浑身生疮，被人放在财主门口，And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

天地废去，较比律法的一点一画落空还容易。And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

凡休妻另娶的，就是犯奸淫。娶被休之妻的，也是犯奸淫。Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

律法和先知，到约翰为止。从此神国的福音传开了，人人努力要进去。The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

耶稣对他们说，你们是在人面前自称为义的。你们的心，神却知道。因为人所尊贵的是神看为可憎恶的。And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
