彼得却拉他说，我也是人。But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

彼得和他说着话进去，见有好些人在那里聚集，And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

就对他们说，你们知道犹太人，和别国的人亲近往来，本是不合例的。但神已经指示我，无论什么人，都不能看作俗而不洁净的。And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

所已我被请的时候，就不推辞而来。现在请问，你们叫我来有什么意思呢。Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

哥尼流说，前四天这个时候，我在家中守着申初的祷告，忽然有一个人，穿着光明的衣裳，站在我面前，And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

说，哥尼流，你的祷告，已蒙垂听，你的周济，达到神面前已蒙记念了。And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

你当打发人往约帕去，请那称呼彼得的西门来，他住在海边一个硝皮匠西门的家里。Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

所以我立时打发人去请你，你来了很好。现在我们都在神面前，要听主所吩咐你的一切话。Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

彼得就开口说，我真看出神是不偏待人。Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

原来各国中，那敬畏主行义的人，都为主所悦纳。But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
