所以他们中间多有相信的。又有希腊尊贵的妇女，男子也不少。Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few

但帖撒罗尼迦的犹太人，知道保罗又在庇哩亚传神的道，也就往那里去，耸动搅扰众人。But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

左咡

当时弟兄们便打发保罗往海边去。西拉和提摩太仍住在庇哩亚。And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

左咡

送保罗的人带他到了雅典。既领了保罗的命令，叫西拉和提摩太速速到他这里来，就回去了。And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

[BR]保罗在雅典等候他们的时后，看见满城都是偶像，就心里着急。Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

左咡

于是在会堂里，与犹太人，和虔敬的人，并每日在市上所遇见的人辩论。Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

左咡

还有以彼古罗和斯多亚两门的学士，与他争论。有的说，这胡言乱语的要说什么。有的说，他似乎是传说外邦鬼神的。这话是保罗传讲耶稣，与复活的道。Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

他们就把他带到亚略巴古说，你所讲的这新道，我们也可以知道吗。And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

左咡

因为你有些奇怪的事，传到我们耳中。我们愿意知道这些事是什么意思。For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean

左咡

雅典人，和住在那里的客人，都不顾别的事，只将新闻说说听听(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
