左咡

保罗站在亚略巴古当中，说，众位雅典人哪，我看你们凡事很敬畏鬼神。Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

左咡

我游行的时候，观看你们所敬拜的，遇见一座坛，上面写着未识之神。你们所不认识而敬拜的，我现在告诉你们。For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

创造宇宙和其中万物的神，既是天地的主，就不住人手所造的殿。God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

左咡

也不用人手服事，好像缺少什么，自己倒将生命气息，万物，赐给万人。Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

左咡

他从一本造出万族的人，（本有古卷作血脉），住在全地上，并且豫先定准他们的年限，和所住的疆界。And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

左咡

要叫他们寻求神，或者可以揣摩而得，其实他离我们各人不远。That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

我们生活，动作，存留，都在乎他，就如你们作诗的，有人说，我们也是他所生的。For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

左咡

我们既是神所生的，就不当以为神的神性像人用手艺，心思，所雕刻的金，银，石。Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

左咡

世人蒙昧无知的时后，神并不监察，如今却吩咐各处的人都要悔改。And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

左咡

因为他已经定了日子，要藉着他所设立的人，按公义审判天下。并且叫他从死里复活，给万人作可信的凭据。Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
