有一个人跑去，把海绒蘸满了醋，绑在苇子上，送给他喝，说，且等着，看以利亚来不来把他取下。And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

左咡

耶稣大声喊叫，气就断了。And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

左咡

殿里的幔子，从上到下裂为两半。And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

左咡

对面站着的百夫长，看见耶稣这样喊叫断气，（有古卷无喊叫二字）就说，这人真是神的儿子。And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

还有些妇女，远远的观看。内中有抹大拉的马利亚，又有小雅各和约西的母亲马利亚，并有撒罗米。There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

就是耶稣在加利利的时候，跟随他，服事他的那些人，还有同耶稣上耶路撒冷的好些妇女在那里观看。(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

到了晚上，因为这是豫备日，就是安息日的前一日，And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,

有亚利马太的约瑟前来，他是尊贵的议士，也是等候神国的。他放胆进去见彼拉多，求耶稣的身礼。Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

左咡

[BR]彼拉多诧异耶稣已经死了。便叫百夫长来，问他耶稣死了久不久。And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

左咡

既从百夫长得知实情，就把耶稣的尸首赐给约瑟。And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
