左咡

天国好比一个王，为他儿子摆设娶亲的筵席。The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

左咡

就打发仆人去请那些被召的人来赴席。他们却不肯来。And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

左咡

王又打发别的仆人说，你们告诉那被召的人，我的筵席已经豫备好了，牛和肥畜已经宰了，各样都齐备。请你们来赴席。Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

左咡

那些人不理就走了。一个到自己田里去。一个作买卖去。But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

左咡

其馀的拿住仆人，凌辱他们，把他们杀了。And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them

左咡

王就大怒，发兵除灭那些凶手，烧毁他们的城。But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

左咡

于是对仆人说，喜筵已经齐备，只是所召的人不配。Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

左咡

所以你们要往岔路口上去，凡遇见的，都召来赴席。Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

左咡

那些仆人就出去到大路上，凡遇见的，不论善恶都召聚了来。筵席上坐满了客。So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

左咡

王进来观看宾客，见那里有一个没有穿礼服的。And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
