左咡

我告诉你们，这人回家去，比那人倒算为义了，因为凡自高的，必降为卑，自卑的，必升为高。I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

左咡

有人抱着自己的婴孩，来见耶稣，要他摸他们，门徒看见就责备那些人。And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

左咡

耶稣却叫他们来，说，让小孩子倒我这里来，不要禁止他们，因为在神国的，正是这样的人But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

左咡

我实在告诉你们，凡要承受神国的，若不像小孩子，断不能进去。Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

有一个官问耶稣说，善良的夫子，我该作什吗事，才可以承受永生。And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

左咡

耶稣对他说，你为什吗称我是良善的，除了神一位之外，再没有良善的。And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

左咡

诫命你是晓得的，不可奸淫，不可杀人，不可偷盗，不可作假见证，当孝敬父母。Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

那人说，这一切我从小都遵守了。And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

左咡

耶稣听见了，就说，你还缺少一件，要变卖你一切所有的，分给穷人，就必有财宝在天上。你还要来跟从我。Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

他听见这话，就甚忧愁，因为他很富足。And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
