左咡

就是你们的头发也都被数过了。不要惧怕，你们比许多麻雀还贵重。But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

左咡

五个麻雀，不是卖二分银子吗。但在神面前，一个也不忘记。Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

左咡

我要指示你们当怕的是谁。当怕那杀了以后，又有权柄丢在地狱里的。我实在告诉你们，正要怕他。But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

左咡

我的朋友，我对你们说，那杀身体以后，不能再作什么的，不要怕他们。And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

左咡

掩盖的事，没有不露出来的。隐藏的事，没有不被人知道的。For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

左咡

因此你们在暗中所说的，将要在明处被人听见。在室内附耳所说的，将要在房上被人宣扬。Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

左咡

那请你们的人前来对你说，让座寄这一位吧。你就羞羞惭惭的退到末位上去了。And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

左咡

你被请的时候，就去坐在末位上，好叫那请你的人来，对你说，朋友，请上坐，那时你在同席的人面前，就有了光彩了。But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

因为凡自高的必降为卑。自卑的必升为高。For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

左咡

耶稣又对请他的人说，你摆设午饭，或晚饭，不要请你的朋友，弟兄，亲属，和富足的邻舍。恐怕他们也请你，你就得了报答。Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
