[BR]亚波罗在哥林多的时候，保罗经过了上边一带地方，就来到以弗所。在那里遇见几个门徒。And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

保罗请一个百夫长来，说，你领这少年人去见千夫长，他有事告诉他。Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
于是把他领去见千夫长说，被囚的保罗请我到他那里，求我领这少年人来见你。他有事告诉你。So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
千夫长就拉着他的手，走到一旁，私下问他说，你有什么事告诉我呢。Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
他说，犹太人已经约定，要求你明天带下保罗到公会里去，假作要详细查问他的事。And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
你切不要随从他们，因为他们有四十多人埋伏，已经起誓，说，若不先杀保罗，就不吃不喝。现在豫备好了，只等你应允。But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.
于是千夫长打发少年人走，嘱咐他说，不要告诉人你将这事报告我了。So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.
千夫长便叫了两个百夫长来，说，豫备步兵二百，马兵七十，长枪手二百，今夜亥初往凯撒利亚去。And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;
