哀哭的，要像不哀哭。快乐的，要像不快乐。置买的，要像无有所得。And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
我愿你们无所挂虑。没有娶妻的，是为主的事挂虑，想怎样叫主喜悦。But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
妇人和处女也有分别。没有出嫁的，是为主的事挂虑，要身体灵魂都圣洁。已经出嫁的，是为世上的事挂虑，想要怎样叫丈夫喜悦。There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
我说这话，是为你们的益处。不是要牢笼你们，乃是要叫你们行合宜的事，得以殷勤服事主，没有分心的事。And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
若有人以为自己待他的女儿不合宜，女儿也过了年岁，事又当行，他就可随意办理，不算有罪，叫二人成亲就是了。But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
倘若人心里坚定，没有不得己的事，并且由得自己作主，心里又决定了留下女儿不出嫁，如此行也好。Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
丈夫活着的时候，妻子是被约束的。丈夫若死了，妻子就可以自由，随意再嫁。只是要嫁这在主里面的人。The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
