左咡

若有人见你这有知识的，在偶像的庙里坐席，这人的良心若是软弱，岂不放胆去吃那祭偶像之物吗。For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

左咡

因此，基督为他死的那软弱弟兄，也就因你的知识沉伦了。And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

左咡

你们这样得罪弟兄们，伤了他们软弱的良心，就是得罪基督。But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

左咡

所以食物若叫我弟兄跌倒，我就永远不吃肉，免得叫我弟兄跌倒了。Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

左咡

我不是自由的吗。我不是使徒吗。我不是见过我们的主耶稣吗。你们不是我在主里面所作之工吗。Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

左咡

假若在别人我不是使徒，在你们我总是使徒。因为你们在主里正是我作使徒的印证If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

左咡

我对那磐问我的人，就是这样分诉。Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

左咡

难道我们没有权柄靠福音吃喝吗。Have we not power to eat and to drink?

左咡

难道我们没有权柄娶信主的姊妹为妻，带着一同往来，彷佛其馀的使徒，和主的弟兄，并矶法一样吗。Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

左咡

独有我与巴拿巴没有权柄不作工吗。Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
