左咡

我是攻克己身，叫身服我。恐怕我传福音给别人，自己反被弃绝了。But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

左咡

弟兄们，我不愿意你们不晓得，我们的祖宗从前都在云下，都从海中经过。Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

左咡

都在云里海里受洗归了摩西。And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

左咡

并且都吃了一样的灵食。And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

左咡

也都喝了一样的灵水。所喝的是出于随着他们的灵磐石。那磐石就是基督。And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

左咡

但他们中间，多半是神不喜欢的人。所以在旷野倒毙。But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

左咡

这些事都是我们的监戒，叫我们不要贪恋恶事，像他们那样贪恋的。Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

左咡

也不要拜偶像，像他们有人拜的。如经上所记，百姓坐下吃喝，起来玩耍。Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

左咡

我们也不要行奸淫，像他们有人行的，一天就倒毙了二万三千人。Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

左咡

也不要试探主，（主有古卷作基督）像他们有人试探的，就被蛇所灭。Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
