耶稣说，你们这小信的人哪，为什么胆怯呢。于是起来，斥责风和海，风和海就大大的平静了。And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
耶稣既渡到那边去，来到加大拉人的地方，就有两个被鬼附的人，从坟茔里出来迎着他，极其凶猛，甚至没有人能从那条路上经过。And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
他们喊着说，神的儿子，我们与你有什么相干。时候还没有到，你就上这里来叫我们受苦吗。And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
耶稣说，去吧。鬼就出来，进入猪群。全群忽然闯下山崖，投在海里淹死了。And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
放猪的就逃跑进城，将这一切事，和被鬼附的人所遭遇的，都告诉人。And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
合城的人，都出来迎见耶稣。既见了，就央求他礼开他们的境界。And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
