左咡

耶稣上耶路撒冷去的时候，在路上把十二个门徒带到一边对他们说，And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,

左咡

看哪，我们上耶路撒冷去，人子要被交给祭司长和文士。他们要定他死罪。Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

左咡

又交给外邦人，将他戏弄，鞭打，钉在十字架上。第三日他要复活。And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

左咡

那时，西庇太儿子的母亲，同他两个儿子前来，拜耶稣求他一件事。Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

左咡

耶稣说，你要什么呢。他说，愿你叫我这两个儿子在你国里，一个坐在你右边，一个坐在你左边。And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

左咡

耶稣回答说，你们不知道所求的是什么。我将要喝的杯，你们能喝吗。他们说，我们能。But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

左咡

耶稣说，我所喝的杯，你们必要喝。只是坐在我的左右，不是我可以赐的，乃是我父为谁豫备的，就赐给谁。And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

那十个门徒听见，就恼怒他们弟兄二人。And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

左咡

耶稣叫了他们来，说，你们知道外邦人有君王为主治理他们，有大臣操权管束他们。But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

左咡

只是在你们中间不可这样。你们中间谁愿为大，就必作你们的用人。But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
