主对他说，如今你们法利赛人洗净杯盘的外面。你们里面却满了勒索和邪恶。And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

这法利赛人看见耶稣饭前不洗手，便诧异。And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

耶稣从那里出来，文士和法利赛人，就极力的催逼他，引动他多说话。And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

私下窥听，要拿他的话柄。Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

左咡

这时，有几万人聚集，甚至彼此践踏，耶稣开讲，先对门徒说，你们要防备法利赛人的酵，就是假冒为善。In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

你们律法师有祸了。因为你们把知识的钥匙夺了去。自己不进去，正要进去的人，你们也阻挡他们。Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

就是从亚伯的血起，直到被杀在坛和殿中间撒迦利亚的血为止。我实在告诉你们，这都要问在这世代的人身上。From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

你们法利赛人有祸了。因为你们喜爱会堂里的首位，又喜爱人在街市上问你们的安。Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

左咡

你们有祸了。因为你们如同不显露的坟墓，走在上面的人并不知道。Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

律法师中有一个回答耶稣说，夫子，你这样说，也把我们糟塌了。Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
