但这些不明白律法的百姓，是被咒诅的。But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

内中有尼哥底母，就是从前去见耶稣的，对他们说，Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

左咡

不先听本人的口供，不知道他所作的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗。Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

左咡

他们回答说，你也是出于加利利吗。你且去查考，就可知道，加利利没有出过先知。They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

左咡

*And every man went unto his own house.

左咡

[BR]于是各人都回家去了。耶稣却往橄榄山去。Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

清早又回到殿里。众百姓都到他那里去，他就坐下教训他们。And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

左咡

文士和法利赛人，带着一个行淫时被拿的妇人来，叫他站在当中。And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

左咡

就对耶稣说，夫子，这妇人是正行淫之时被拿的。They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

左咡

摩西在律法上吩咐我们，把这样的妇人用石头打死。你说该把他怎吗样呢。Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
