左咡

千夫长准了，保罗就站在台阶上，向百姓摆手，他们都静默无声，保罗使用希伯来话对他们说。And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying

[BR]诸位父兄请听，我现在对你们分诉。Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you

左咡

众人跟在后面，喊着说，除掉他。For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him

左咡

将要带他进营楼，保罗对千夫长说，我对你说句话，可以不可以。他说，你懂得希腊话吗。And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek

左咡

你莫非是从前作乱，带领四千凶徒，往旷野去的那埃及人吗。Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers

左咡

保罗说，我本是犹太人，生在基利家的大数，并不是无名小城的人，求你准我对百姓说话。But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people

左咡

到了台阶，众人挤得兄猛，兵丁只得将保罗抬起来。And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people

左咡

众人有喊叫这个的，有喊叫那个的。千夫长因为这样乱囔，得不着实情，就吩咐人把保罗带进营楼去。And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle

左咡

于是千夫长上前拿住他，吩咐用两条铁链捆锁。又问他是什么人，作的是什么事。Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done

左咡

众人必听见你来了，这可怎吗办呢。What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come
